Candace Kant
PhD


Candace Kant holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in history from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Ph.D. in history from Northern Arizona University. She taught U.S., Nevada, European history, Women's Studies and Religious Studies at the College of Southern Nevada since 1976. She developed classes in The History of Witchcraft, Goddess Traditions, Introduction to Modern Western Paganism, and Modern Pagan Thought, at CSN all for academic credit. Upon retirement she was awarded the title Emerita Professor of History. She develops and teaches courses in applied Pagan and Goddess Spirituality at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality dedicated to Sekhmet at Cactus Springs, Nevada, and through the College of Southern Nevada Continuing Educations department. As Emerita Professor, she offers several classes per year for academic credit. She is a member of the faculty of Cherry Hills Seminary, the first Pagan seminary in the United States. A devotee of Sekhmet, she serves as one of the priestesses at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality and participates in creating and leading ritual there. She frequently speaks to local groups on the topic of witchcraft, Goddess spirituality and Paganism. She is a managing editor of Goddess Ink, Ltd.
